Esmee is the overarching name for GPS and GSM products introduced by TDSL Nederland BV.
Esmee was established in 2000 with the introduction of the Esmee SMS1. This GPS and GSM device responded to an SMS command of ‘get street,’ and in response, the user received an SMS with the vehicle’s address, including the house number. TDSL internally developed and produced this Esmee device independently (affectionately referred to as a dinosaur due to its size and limited functionality, restricted to SMS capabilities).
The name ‘Esmee’ was chosen because the dinosaur-like device could only send SMS messages. When you pronounce SMS, it resembles ‘EsemEs,’ and from there, it evolved into ‘Esmee.’
In 2023, TDSL is actively engaged in the development of an advanced environment that leverages the knowledge gained over the past 23 years. With a strong emphasis on innovation, TDSL aims to create a state-of-the-art ecosystem that incorporates the latest advancements and utilizes the expertise accumulated throughout its existence.
Since 2015, Esmee has had the capability to connect to the CANbus of vehicles, enabling real-time transmission of vehicle information such as fuel consumption, current odometer reading on the dashboard, axle load for trucks, carbon emission reporting, and much more.
In 2012, TDSL introduced Esmeemobile at an affordable price, targeting customers who require live tracking and a one-week trip history but do not require extensive mileage registration.
In 2007, Esmeelive evolved into an online cloud-based platform, providing live tracking for an unlimited number of vehicles and delivering downloadable trip data.
Since 2004, TDSL has also released a version called EsmeeLive, which offers mileage tracking capabilities. With an integrated dial-in function, users can track one vehicle in real-time and download the trip history from the device's memory.
